With great pleasure the organising committee invites you to the 7th EFCAP congress which will be held online from 18 to 20 May 2022. The abstract submission is reopened until Tuesday 1 February 2022, 23.59 hrs CET. We are looking forward for additional proposals for individual presentations, symposia, posters and product showcases. 


We hope that you will join us and take up the challenge of narrowing the gap between clinical expertise, research and patients’ perspective.


All authors who already submitted an abstract for EFCAP 2020 which was accepted will receive an email with more information about their submitted abstract on 13 January.


  • Individual presentation

Presentation of 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes questions/discussion. Three paper presentations are grouped together around a theme in one session.


  • Symposium

A group of three or four papers submitted around one theme.

    • 3 x 20 minutes presentation and 30 minutes discussion
    • 4 x 15 minutes presentation and 30 minutes discussion


  • Poster presentation

Presentation of a poster in 3 minutes followed by 4 minutes question and discussion. Two posters will be scheduled in a timeslot of 15 minutes.


  • Show your product (e.g. product, app, virtual reality or other)

This type of presentation lasts 30 mins including at least 10 minutes for discussion. You are able to share your screen and thus can show a video, presentation or animation.


The scope of the congress is expressed in the various subthemes:

  • Assessment and treatment of young and/or adolescent offenders
  • Community based interventions with young offenders
  • Criminological and legal issues
  • Life course perspectives in youth forensic psychiatry
  • Narratives in youth forensic psychiatry
  • Neurobiological & – psychological intervention studies
  • Peer & family perspectives
  • Practices in ambulatory & residential care of children and youngsters
  • Victimization of offenders
